I. Else Kröner-Fresenius Symposium on Stem Cell Aging, May 22nd-24th, 2009 at the Reisensburg in Günzburg, Germany

Dear colleagues,

I would like to draw you attention on our above mentioned meeting. There has been no meeting specifically focusing on stem cell aging. We have planned a focused, 3-day meeting on this topic with an experts list of speakers.

There is growing evidence that aging of adult stem cells contributes to organ and tissue aging. An understanding of molecular mechanisms of stem cell aging could identify targets for future therapies aiming to improve organ maintenance and quality of life during aging. In addition, these mechanisms could contribute to the increasing cancer risk in aged tissues.

The meeting will focus on new, unpublished data and the discussion of novel concepts and ideas in the field.

The meeting takes place at the Reisensburg, a small castle in Southern Germany, located in Günzburg (Bürgerm.-Joh.-Müller-Str.1, D-89312 Günzburg / Donau, Germany, web-address: http://www.uni-ulm.de/reisensburg/ubersicht_start.html). The meeting starts with the first talk on Friday, May 22nd, 2009 at 6 p.m. The last meeting will end on Sunday, May 24th, 2009, 2 p.m.
